it appears that motherboard monitor is incompatible with my setup (abit kt7)- do you guys know of any other proggies that will shut down my cpu in the event it goes over a preset temp? I have a 156W peltier and dangerden water cooler setup going. I want some insurance in the event that the water pump goes out and the peltier does not shut off being as it is on a seperate power supply

I like Motherboard Probe. It is smaller and uses less resources than Motherboard Monitor. There is also a chance that the CD that came with your motherboard may have a monitoring tool on it. Mine has Hardware Doctor.
