How do I make a fan filter for that 172mm fan that is for sale?? I don't see anywhere that sells them.

Foam padding, same as the other kinds of filters. 172mm????? Where'd you find that?
Or you can go to a hardware store such as Home Depot and buy a furnace filter. It comes in huge sheets about 2ft by 1 1/2 ft. You can then cut it to any size you want.

I was going to use regular window air-conditioner filter backed by something like the galvanized wire fabric like the picture below. The mesh size is something like .15-.25 inches square, and the wire size is somewhere around 22-20 guage. That matierial is stout enough to prevent the filter from being sucked into the fan. Those were my original plans. But, now instead of blowing through the radiator, I now pulling air through the radiator. With this configuration I can now let the suction of the fan hold the filter matierial in place on the radiator.
