if i see a red computer appear next to the client in emIII but the proc load is still @ 100 does this mean there has been a client error or that emIII miscalculated the time for the frame to finish?

Could be either way. If you've been using the cpu for something intensive, or if the protein is one of the new ones, I'd say its just a miscalcluated expected frame time. Wait a bit and see if it move on to the next frame. If it doesn't get to the next one in a reasonable amount of time, then restart the client.

Actually from what the Weatherman has said, with the new proteins, EMIII does not expect a frame to take more than X minutes. If it does, then it displays the Red Icon and display 100% until the frame is actually finished.

When it does finish the frame, it will display the Green Icon and start the new frame from 1 again.
