They recent surge in point production that some of us have noticed, which is mostly a recovery of lost production, probably has to do with the Gromac erros, time outs, and server 115 problems that everyone has already noted.

However, I wanted to let anyone who is folding with a PMMX, PII, or PIII that last week I went through and reinstalled the graphical client on all of my machines and saw a significant increase in production prior to the global surge.

I'm running 16+ machines with the folding client running in Task Schedular and it seems that the graphical client runs with more stablility than the console. Since the FAH is running in the back ground, the graphics of the graphical client are never called upon, making the client just as effecient as the console version. IMO.

Just some FYI that it worked for me and if you have such boxes in your farms you might reap the same rewards.

Cool Wedo! So, my frame times on my PII doing a gromacs protein will be better with the graphical version? That's awesome!

I just started Folding last week and have had a chance to play with both the graphical and consol versions and i've got to say i've had A LOT fewer problems with the graphical version. As a newbie geting the consol to work along with EMIII was challenging and every once in a while i've had the program totaly switch protiens in the middle of working on one with the console version. I havn't noticed anything like that when I use the graphical one. So maybe there's more of a difference between the two ? I don't know...but i've had better luck with the graphical version as a newbie....Speed wise...I havn't noticed any kind of difference yet....I'm folding with a PIII 600 I can test it out to see though.

bump for all those powerful PII's, even though I don't fold, I still support the cause fully.
Too bad for me that electricity is a premium where I live (can't afford to fold) :(

Why not just run it whenever you are on the computer. You dont have to let the comp run 24/7, i dont. But when you are using it if its running you can stil turn out a unit ever day or two.
