Question about thermal probes

Which is best? I'm guessing most are about the same, but thought I'd ask before i order them.

The ones i was going to order are from crazypc....enermax..what's your experiences with these probes, what others are there? Are they better? Or, again am i right in the assumption they are all quite similiar?

What probes are you talking about? Just thermistors or a complete monitoring set-up? If you get the CompuNurse and slap a miniature rotary switch in the face plate with it, then buy a bunch of 50cts 10K thermistors and some wire you could make yourself an expanded thermal monitor.

Just checked that out, yeah that's good. Stick the display in a blank 5-1/4 front plate, and add a Radio Shack rotary switch. Add some 10K thermistors from http://www.allelectronics.com/ and your set to go. Just measure the resistance of the thermistor that comes with the temp probe to be sure you order the correct thermistors.

OK lets see if I understood you correctly.

Buy the compunurse(i assume that its the thermal detector i mentioned previously)
also buy the rotary switch along with the 10k thermal sensors from ALLelectronic.
Install the switch to the lcd display and run the other thermal sensors thru the switch.

Thus enabling you to use the switch to check the temps on the other probs?

Yep, you got it. One other thing you may wish to consider is putting a voltage divider across a 5v supply to give you the same voltage as the button cell presently used to power it.

Or, you might want to go here ( http://www.plycon.com/ ) and pick up a DigiDoc5, it has 8 sensors and can control 8 fans as well.
