yeah havent been here a while I guess ;)
This is the P4T533 board with 32-bit RIMMs.
Its a nightmare, unstable POS... but with some modding its running ok (I added 2 huge 3300 uF capacitors to the board, and 4 33 uF tantalum caps, and a Vrimm mod to 2.98Vrimm instead of 2.50)
BTW, it'll boot at 175x4 too... nice mem benches

I'm in the market for a 2.66/2.80 P4 now. I intend 3.7 GHz . 4 GHz with LN2 in september

holy (censored)! now thats a nice 1.6a :D
nice oc on the 1.6a and the 2.26. i wonder how a rdr would do on his system
BTW... what is hawkye doing there?

Damn... Nice OC JC!!! Again... Damn..!!!
Regarding more capacitors, Where do you add them? In parallel? On the back of motherboard? Would you share with us?
I have some Nichikon capacitors lying in my drawers (1200uF @ 10V, 2200uF @ 16V ). I think this is interesting topic "adding more capacitors".

I added 4 33 uF tantalum caps in parallell to 4 existing caps to filter out high frequency noise... for the low frequency, 2 big ass 3300 uF caps were added in parallell to each group of 2 caps already on the board. Its a bit hard to explain which caps exactly, but it doesnt really matter for an example...

JC, Last night I put one 1000uF @10V capacitor in parallel to capacitors near processor area (there are 6 of them), and two 1000uF @10V capacitors in parallel close to Memory's Voltage Generator / MosFet.
(Honestly, I really don't know where to put the caps in the right place. I just assume where it should by common sense. So, people ..... I might be wrong and this mod. is unnecessary).
And the results:...... 1 extra FSB increase (143MHz). At 145FSB, the computer now can boot, but didn't finish loading Windows.
Previously, the comp. cannot boot at all at 145FSB. I am working very hard to get my Mushkin PC3200 to work at 145 FSB at 3:4 setting. Is there anyway to increase the current or improve signal? My problem is memory because the proc. is stable at 150FSB at 1:1 setting.
Thanks JC. Anyone are welcome too.
Here a picture of where i mod the caps.

a 100% overclock like this?

hehe, thi is my pretty 1600 under the hands of DDA, a great italian overclockers... i can do only 3080 for now with my system, but soon i'll hit 3200mhz, very soon!!!!:D ;)

Here the picture where I add some capacitors:
one 1000uF @ 10V at CPU area
two 1000uF @ 10V at Memory Slot Area
All caps. are soldered on the back of mobo, in parallel.

Dirty punk, it IS a lot harder to hit a 100% overclock on an RDRAM board, but its still nice even with DDR ;)

with an Th7-II is harder, or with pc800 is harder, yes, but with p4t533 with rdrmem that support up to 170mhz 4x or more than 200 3x i think it's not so harder... but i have never tryed it, so i can't be sure...
what's your vcore for 3200????
JCviggen
08-30-02, 05:20 AM
Vcore was in the mid-1.80 range. And this board refused to do even 170x3 before some mods
For the record, I once managed 196 FSB on the TH7-II ... never made it to 200 :(

what?? need mods to do over 170?? not a good board... i think there isn't any mod to do, that the rdram were the only limit...
i want abit 32bit rdram board!!!! not the **** of asus!!!
durondude of icrontic can do 200mhz fsb with th7-ii ;)

ah, whats your best time in superpi with rdram (with the 1600, not with a 2260 that clock easier and highter)

I think 54 secs with the 1.6A and 52 with the 2.26, although i'm not sure about that. I'll try and re-run it
oh, and btw, I am DuronDude from Icrontic... lol
Was my old name in the days I started off with Duron overclocking...

hehe, durondude!!!
but hte screen you post with 1600@3200 isn't with the th7-II in icrontic signature!!!! i think it was with it!!!!
but is full stable at 3200??
it isn't so low ~1.8v?? my friend do 3200 (i think very unstable, but enought for s.pi) with 1.88v and swiftec with 226w plet, what type of cooling have you got?? a vapo-clone?
