Instead of using aheatercore what if I used real car radiator. I know they are huge but i could mount it externally on one side of my case or maybe put it on the desk and I'm cooling it with one of those 1200cfm desktop fans. Anyways, this could take a lot more watts than a normal heatercore right? I plan to cool EVERYTHING in my pc with water and possibly use 3 pelts. I want to keep everything right at room temp. and the pelt cooled stuff down to like -40 to -60 C. would this cool better than phase change cooling? I am very interested in phase change cooling but would a car rad water cool sys with pelts work better?

Just what do you plan on using to pump the water, an industrial water pump?

You won't get pelts to cool to -40 to -60C, just not gonna happen. IF you used that big of a rad, you would need a SERIOUS pump, like a sump pump or something. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me, I think you'd be better off with 2 heater cores to cool 3 pelts. Why 3 pelts anyway? Pelting the NB is a waste, a big waste.

I want to do 2 stacked 226w for the cpu and a 80W for the gpu.

yea, you wouldn't get -40*c if you had 10 pelts. I would just go with 2 radiators, 3 pelts, and one really strong pump.

yea, don't pelt the northbridge chip, its such a waste, instead pelt your video card.

car radiators are made for massive flow and low restriction so you dont really need a massive pump, I know someone that used a washing machine pump in his pool 24/7, now that would be a massive pump to use. If size doesn't matter i say go with the car rad.

If you are running the system inline flow is really not hurt that much. Its a lot different when you have the pump pushing and pulling. Thats why letting it pour into a bucket to measure flow is really not that accurate.

Honestly, I don't think you'd see a heck of a lot of difference. Heatercores can disspate a LOT of heat. Probably 1200+ watts anyways. Let me put it this way. When the fan on my car's radiator was out, the car would overheat pretty quickly. If I turned my heater on high and blew the air out the Windows, it would not only keep my car from overheating but actually drop the temp a bit from where it was.

Plus car radiators are A) fairly expensive B) would need a big pump and a loud fan and C) look pretty ghetto

I don't think you would need a Car's radiator. If a heater core isn't getting it done for you check out a lot of the aftermarket tranny coolers used in drag cars. Like Perma cool maxi cool (http://www.permacool.com/Catalog/Cat_page13.html) line or something similar. I have there 12318 on my drag car and it lowered the tranny temp ~30f that a lot more heat to dissipate then your pelts. But you still need the flow rate to go with it.
