Can anyone suggest a good thermal probe ( back lit would be nice or bright LED ). I have seen the computer nanny offered from highperformancePC.com and the probe is neither back lit or bright --- so difficult to read in a dark room ( for best monitor display ). In addition are water flow meters generally a good idea or an extra that I can do w/o ? How are they monitored ( on screen with system monitors or externally via a LCD dispaly like a thermal monitor). Any good links of products and or info would be appreciated esp. where is the best mounting of the probe to the CPU itself ( bottom , top, etc. )

You're looking for a little LCD (or LED, I dont know) screen that's outside of the computer that displays the temps of the CPU and system temp? Kinda like a separate thing?

That would be neat. I would also like to know where to get this and how much $$$$$ it would cost. :D

A digital doc 5 sounds like it would fit your needs pretty well. Comes with 8 sensors, monitors voltages, and can be set to turn 8 fans on at preset temps (a usless feature if you ask me, but the temp monitoring is good). If you get a good deal on one you should be able to get it for 30 bucks or so, comes with an orange backlight display. Then, you can get some blue backlight LED's and mod it so it looks like mine, herehttp://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=761030

As for the probe, i have mine mounted ontop of teh CPU so that it just touches the EDGE of the core. you dont want it between the core and the heatsink though.
