Hey all! I just downloaded 3DMark 2001 SE yesterday, and was running the benchmark, and noticed that I could ramp my memory speed up WAY higher in 3DMark than I have ever managed to run in GL Excess.

In GL Excess, my memory will top out (no artifacts) at 318Mhz. 3DMark will let me push it to 330 without artifacts!! Has anyone else noticed this? Also, I can (to a much lesser extent) increase my core speed more in 3DMark...

3dmark is a combo of d3d and opengl i believe.

What would that have to do with the ammount of stress it produces?

well I tend to rely on opengl games more for testing artifacts, I have noticed that many games that are opengl will get show artifacts before d3d programs do, which I am glad for! as for why this happens I am unsure, but trust opengl and not d3d that's my 2 cents.
