I want to move from Intel to AMD but I wanna a dual processor machine and I was looking on the net at Tigerdirect.com they have a dual socket A board, but they said it supports MP processors and the thing is I never heard of these processors only the Athlon XP ones. Where can I get MP proceesors or would I be able of use Athlon XP processors since their the same socket? If anyone can help me out it would be a big help thanks.
http://www.newegg.com sells Athlon MP Processors. You can use the Athlon XP Processors in MP Format if you close the L5 bridges .
Check out the stickies in the SMP Forum.

If you have further SMP questions posting in there would get you more resourceful answers since they're more knowledgeable SMP'ers there than here ;)

Also check www.pricewatch.com. They have pricing for all kinds of computer parts at different stores.

I'd save yourself some money, and just by athlon XP's not MP's. With a small mod on the L5 bridges they will run in SMP without a hitch, they are cheaper than the MP's and are also better for overclocking...
Just my $0.02

I would recommend that too however not everyone may be comfortable modding their chips just yet ;)

Also, MP come unlocked. Get a board that allows multiplyer adjustment. That is probably the easier way to OC an SMP machine. Unlocking can be difficult if you've never done it before, and having to do 2 chips makes it twice as hard. Ask the SMP guys about the motherboard they recommend. And judge for yourself whether 2 MP's (assuming you can OC by multiplyer on the board you get) is gonna be cheaper than 2 XP's of a higher model and just doing the one L5 bridge.
