View Full Version : ECC or non-ecc?
Is there a way to tell on a generic 512 pc133 chip whether it is ecc or non ecc? if not is there some other way to check it? :eh?:
Please note that besides the 9 IC chips,
2 more buffer chips are included in the center, one on the other side (3 buffers total).

Thanks, this chip looks nothing like the pic but it doen't appear to have buffers, so I am going to assume for now that it is non ecc. Tried to include pic but couldn't get it to work.
if the number of chips on the stick is divisible by 3 or 5 you have ECC ram.
the IC chips by the way, that with the black numbers on Placid's picture.
oTTo, you da' man. ECC it is. thanks for the info. And thanks to Placid for the info and pic. One of these days I'll learn what the Hell I'm doing.
