OK, If I somehow screwed up my BIOS settings, (you never know:rolleyes: ), could I use this to plug into computer so that it shows my BIOS/Settings for my motherboard to fix the problem?:)
not sure what the hell that thing does but man thats a cool idea if only it had some practical purpose!
I dont think so it looks like a memory card with a cable to acess it with a computer. To see bios settings is easy as it is so to use a device like that is pretty much useless even if you could read the settings from it.
Besides a bios almost never needs attention unless you add new hardware that is unsupported Ie xp 2200 in a board with no multiplier to reach that clock speed .Then a flash of the bios will fix it.
If a setting gets changed all you usually ned to do is reset cmos, and reenter the settings you need.

Thats a device for monitoring/checking the serial port activity. It monitors transmission of data from the computer to/from the modem for reliability. No other information about the computer (i.e CMOS)could be read from it

Yeah, thats about right.
We used something like that a while back when we kept getting errors on connections. We used to check the communications settings and made sure any line errors were not computer/modem related. Especially in the days before the 16550 chips.
