Guys, is satellite really a viable option for a low-traffic HTTP server?

I've had the rig in my sig (ha) fixed up with Apache webserver, along with extensions and support for PHP, MySQL, and PERL/CGI, for several months now. I've put together several sites/forums that I want hosted on my machine, but doing that through a 56k would be a friggin' joke.

How's the ping? How reliable is it?

The new satellite offerings that let you upload over the sat have gotten mixed reviews. You would definitely not want to run any games over it, but a web site would probably be okay. For the money those things cost I think you'd be better off looking for an alternative line frac t1.
