Radeon 9700 defeated by itself?

I was looking forwared to this card. Its has so much power but it is defeated by ati's crappy drivers. There are so many games that dont work or have alot of porblems with this cards drivers. Common ati get some new programers.

Do you have one? Did you even ever seen one work? Then don't go posting pointless stuff like this. There will always be problems with every peice of hardware for someone.

speaking of crappy drivers why dont we talk about the new nvidia det 40s... they cut down on image quality for a few extra FPS and still dont even come close to the 9700. All of the other "new" features of the new dets are features that I have had with my 8500 since the day I bought it; colour managment, rotating the screen 90 or 180 degrees...

seems to me that nvidia is following ATi's lead in drivers.

I have a 9700 bought directly from ATI and it never crashed. Not even once. I played Ice wind dale 2, Baldur's gate 1,2, Moonbase commander, Unreal tournament, ...
All is running at stock speed.

i am using 8500le and cant even play games on catalyst 02.2 always freeze, now i am using the driver from the cd that came with it

Im not trying to cap on ati or anyhting. I think they make great products and I hope they stay in the market (unlike voodoo, I hate nivida for that, but the 4600 is a sweet card) so they can push new tec in the competition with nivida. Im just saying they should have drviers that work with all the new games. I just wish ati would get some good drivers out so they really can crush nivida. But then again new ones will prob come out in a week that fix these porblems.
