Bad router?

For some reason my DSL modem went bad I got another one. Now my Speedstream 2 port router doesn't work anymore. I tried acessing the router settings and on status it says disconected.
How can I check to see if the router is the problem or my other computer. Or how could I go about solving this problem?

If you've had all this stuff disconnected check to make sure your PC's IP address is one greater than the router's then you should be able to access the SpeedStream.

Any idea what killed your first modem?

I see your in the Sunshine and Lightning state, did a lightning strike take out the modem, if it did, there's a very good chance it took the router with it if it was hooked up at the time.

just 2 days ago my router got all messed up.... it was after a lightning storm, i came home from school and the router had no power. i used a universal power adaptor and it powered up fine, but then port #1 would not connect to my switch (no lights). next day it it works fine with that port...... weird..... must have had some static or somthing somware in the line, the line does go outside and around my house...
