I want to put to 80 mm fans on the window of my case. If i use a hole saw am i going to get a garbled mess or will it cut it well without like f**k**g it up? Scratches, jagged edges, etc...

Any input ?

well, with this kind of thing, first off it's best to go slow with hole saws and dont over do it as fa as pressure or rpm'
s on the saw. it's doable lots of people do it. hole saws are the prefered method jsut make sure you use the right sized bit andh ave the fan grill bolts and ans for it. than be careful when you remove the window to unplug he fan wires and also be careful that the fan wires that will like ot hang around dont get in the way of the fan blades. i had my window free standing with the wires pluged into the fan, it fll and riped the wire right out of the fan! had to ree solderi t to the fan itself big mess. it works great but dont forget you need 1 input for every output is the general rule of thumb unles you are really good about keeping track of CFMs.

Like Intrepid said, if you go slow you should be fine. Once you make a good groove for the saw then you can pick up the pace alittle bit.

Should i start the drill up then press it onto the window while it is spinning, or do i put the drill on the window then pull the trigger (i'm really new to this!)

Always start the drill before drilling! It will skip like crazy if you do not.

With the drill off check your placement and depth then bring it back up start the drill then come down, drill all the way through bring it back up and shut it off. It's probly best to practice on some wood first if you've never used a drill. Also dont forget to put wood between the material being drilled and the worksurface so you dont damage the bit. Also a good idea clamp down the material being drilled, wear safety glasses and leather gloves
