ok ive been reading and most people say that they have 35 - 45 temps with their volcano 7+ but i get 47 - 52 on an athlon xp 1800+ overclocked to a 1621 mhz and 1.775v is this too hot??

If it is could it have to do with the heat sink compound used because when i removed the old standard fan i think i might have had some left on the cpu and placed the new compound on top and suggestions?

I would reapply your thermal compound. Make sure the cpu is cleaned off also. Make sure you apply a paper thin layer. Some people apply it and use a credit card to smooth it out. It's a good method to use.

The temp sounds about right. I wouldn't worry about it. If your using just the regular thermal paste then getting some Arctic Silver 3 will probably lower your temps about 3 to 4 degrees. You can get it at most sites online. You can get it at Heatsinkfactory (http://heatsinkfactory.com) or Newegg (http://newegg.com) . There are other sites that carrry it too but I trust these sites the most.
