Been messing with my new card, I added ramsinks and left the cooling stock, looks like they have a nice HSF on there already..
I have gone from stock speeds of 250/513 to 320/612 still climbing on the core speed, get alittle artifacting on ram over 612..

I am very impressed with this cards capabilities..
anyone else have a MSI Ti4200 and how does your card fair in the overclocking dept..?

well first you must have the 64mb version which is why your getting those nice memory speeds, however I have a 128mb ver which uses the 4n samsung ram, and the max I've gotten on mine is 335/557 it was very stable and I havn't added ramsinks yet so well see, but I feel it's fast enough at 300/513 so I just leave it there. That way in a couple more months when games are a little slower I can just bump her up and get better performance.

300/500

didnt even try pushing it further yet (I got no ram heatsinks).

I'm betting my money on the 64mb version, very very few 128mb boards can hit 600 let alone 614.

yep I would say its a 64mb card, mine will hit 614 and stable now.. I didn't have the refresh rate fixed and I was seeing what I thought to be some blips in the dragon portion.. but after the refresh fix.. no more.. going to go higher tonight.. :D

Need to get my CPU up there some more.. I am getting to the tap out point I think..

557 is great for 4ns RAM, 12am. Usually the ceiling for Graphics Card RAM is 10% above the rated speed.

yea I was quite pleased with it, everythings still stock, I wanna add ramsinks later to see if I can gain some more on the ram, I get snow at 560 without the ramsinks.

maxvla I know what you mean about reservations, I had to choose between asus and msi, and the guy at my local hardware dealer reccomended the msi to me because I wanted to overclock, damn glad he did!

I have the 64 meg 4200 stock (no ram sinks) and I can get 295/590 w/o any artifacts or slow downs. About 43 fps in game 4 w/ best image quality settings on mipmaps. Not bad for a stock card (only stock cause I havent had a chance to get some ram sinks :-)

I'm thinking that you could push the core a little more most msi owners are able to get thier cores to at least 300mhz.

how does the gainward 4200 128 compare to this? the 64mb w/3.3ns?

the gainward card in my opinion is overhyped, from reviews that I've read the msi can reach higher core speeds, as for the memory a 128mb model you should be able to attain at least 520mhz and a 64mb model should net at least 585mhz, msi also has a great bundle wheras the gainward has none, also I think the gainward card looks like crap.
