Hello,

I was told to come here by a friend in my dorm. I am currently looking at upgrading my system. I just ordered a ATI RADEON 9700 Pro and to go along with it, I am going to upgrade my whole system.

Currently, I have:

Asus P2B-DS 1.06
Intel PIII 800MHz x 2
1 gig PC133 SDRAM
2 WD 120GB 8meg HD's
1 IBM 120GXP 80GB hd
TDK 40/12/40 CD-RW
Hercules GTXP 6.1
... and so on...

Anyway, the prospective upgrade (along with the video card) looks something like:

Intel 2.26a processor
512MB PC3200 memory (brand? Corsair XMS 512mb?)

some sort of decent CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive

but my question is: What motherboard should I get for moderate overclocking. I would expect to get the 2.26 into the 2.5 or 2.6GHz range (as high as is stable with only moderate air-cooling)

What motherboard do you guys reccomend and why?

Thanks!

2.6 is very easy to get with the ABIT IT7. The WD 8mb drives run so well in RAID, which the IT7 has a lot of. Corsair works VERY well. It seem that nearly everyone else thinks highly of Corsair as well.
Are you looking for CD-RW or DVD+RW or what?
