Upgrades

Hi guys, i'm planning on upgrading soon and need a bit of advice because its been so long since i've looked at hardware so nolonger know whats good/bad.

These are what i'm looking at:

MOBO: Abit KX7-333
RAM: Corsair 256 (or 512) MB DDR XMS2700 CAS2
CPU: Athlon XP 2200

(theyre just the main bits)

Main questions are, is that mobo decent? i've read good reviews on it, i'm not planning on overclocking in the near future but maybe eventually. Also, is the RAID version worth buying? i'm a bit new to raid so maybe explanations of what it does/whether its worth it would be nice. Ram - is that decent ram? im new to all the 2700/2100 etc. etc. etc. terminology, is that the best stuff / is it decent??? i want pretty good ram but not too expensive.

I have had excellent luck with everything from Abit I have worked with. There has been an issue with some Abit boards having bad capacitors, but I have not had a problem.

Nice Choice of Motherboard and Memory. I, personally dont believe raid is worth it, but there are others who probably swear by it....to each his own :)

I would pass on the XP2200+ as the choice of CPU though, I would wait until the 2400+ and 2600+ chips are released (about a month). I think of the 2200+ as a prototype for the thoroughbred core.
