on cold cathodes...

i know the cold cathode kits come with a power converter but what are they before they are converted? like 120v and do they originally come with a wall plug cause i have got an idea.

p.s. how do i stop the smoke thats coming from my ears?

Ive read somewhere that the CCRT's take something like 1000v or more to run. Hence the inverter. Dont quote me on that though.
