When I finish a PM correspendence with a mod/admin, should I send a PM thanking them for their help?
I want them to know that I appreciate their hassistance, but I also don't want to add a potentially annoying PM to their inboxes.
How do you mods/admins feel about this?

I don't mind getting PMs, and I wouldn't call any of them that I recieve annoying. Especially the ones that show appreciation. ;)
what about mods are not gods?
you can have a nice conversation without needing to follow anything. sometimes maybe you think just a thank you message is not needed.
I think thank you's aren't enough. I think you should fly to whatever city the mod lives in, take him out for dinner and drinks and perhaps slip him a $50 for his trouble :D
I seriously think that no matter who one is getting help from, one should always take the time to say a simple thank you.
how about the "thanks in advance" - this works great, doesnt it? :)

Thanks yous are always appreciated. I may gripe if I am in a particullarly foul mood about the popup, but i usually stay away from the forums then so I don't do something stupid. It doesn't matter too much either way to me although I do like Bettys idea :)(There is this really really nice and expensive steakhouse down the road if anyone is in town and wants to treat me lol). Seriously though, just do whatever you want to and have the time to. There is not etiquette per se on this, so just follow whatever you want to do so. The worst that can happen is that I click no when the PM box pops up :).

I hereby retract my earlier post and would like to see a new policy enforcing this idea. :D
Seriously, though, I prefer to get a PM that says you understand the issue and that it works for ya...or that it doesn't so that I know that whatever it is has been resolved completely.
The best thanks I can get are you guys being happy, honestly. ;)
How about a ''mod of the month'' vote :D
David
I think EVERYONE enjoys a "thank you"

I think it doesn't matter whether it's a mod, senior, member or whoever........acknowledgments of being helpful are always appreciated.
I like getting PM's, whether it be "thanks" or a complaint or just want to shoot the breeze :)

I usually thank members and seniors for their help. I was just curious how you mods and admins felt about this. I'm glad to hear that you're not too busy to be thanked.

I'll treat you to a pizza or something next summer to show my appreciation. :)
I send PMs to mods occasionally, mostly to William and Sam. They are both cool and probably know I appreciate their advice. Atleast I hope they do.

TIA is a good message close but doesn't take the place of a separate thank you. PM or public help, it doesn't matter. It's the right thing to do. I like getting a thanks. It means my help was appreciated. Most of us like to be appreciated.
