Currently I have Corsair 2.5 XMS 3200 and am LESS than satisfied with it. It essentially does XMS 3000. With 2.8v in it it will only do 186mhz 2-3-3-1 . I have found someone who is willing to buy the stick from me and i am going to sell. Now i was wondering how good the new CL2.0 ram was from anyone who uses it.

I am looking for something that will do 2-2-2-1 w/ 195mhz.

Can somebody who has this give me their opinion on the stuff? any benches would be helpful as well.

I just got a 512 stick of it. I haven't played with the memory settings yet, but I plan to in a few days. Seems great so far, but I'll know more next week.

I have the same ram as you I think. Mine is 512mb XMS cas 2.5 PC3200 rev 2.1 (winbond chips). It does 198 at 2-2-5-2-1t, 4 way interleave. I think it can go above 198 with weaker timings(memtest86 thinks so), but that my raid array can't take the out of whack PCI bus.

I found the KX7 vdimm is alittle high... 2.75v = 2.83v, 2.85v= 2.93v... so the memory gets hot if you use a lot of voltage and needs a fan to blow on it.

Here's my experience so far... I have a 512 module...

8k3a -- the ram would do rated specs only (3-6-3-1T I believe) @200 MHz. Took 2.9 Volts to pull it off (stuf is advertised at 2.5 Volts although I don't believe that's possible).

KX7-333r -- I haven't tried for 200 on my ram yet... been running it most of this week at 190 though... one thing I can say for sure is, on THIS board, the stuff will not run 1T past 185 :( . Currently running it 2-5-3-2T though at 190 MHz, 2.85 Volts.

I'm really starting to wonder if I could get 1T if I could raise the Vdimm, but it's maxed out at the moment unless there's a Vdimm mod I dont know about.

BTW my Sandra mem scores for my KX7-333r are 2849/2669 (94/88).

I could be wrong but I don't think a lot of people are hitting the aggressive timings you're hoping for at those speeds...

ZeroKelvin has some. See the bottom of this thread http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118479

Mine is at 202FSB, 2-2-2-5-2 4way 2T command, with 2.75Vdimm. I never got the ram run in 1T command with anything FSB over 188.

Hmmm, he didn't specify his timings, just said it was running at 203.

Nearly everyone I have talked to has had very favorable reviews of the 3200C2, but it does not seem so here. PC3000C2 is beating most of these, but on Intel boards, which is the difference. I would try to ensure that your CPU handles the high FSB more than the memory whereas that is more likely to be the limiting factor with a 1600+.

My 3200c2.5 v2.1 will do 200c2 2-5-2 2T 2.85v on a kx7
On a epox 8k3a, it will do 200c2 2-6-2 1T 3v using the new bios

I would sell the stick and see how you go, if the stick you buy does not do what it is rated at exchange it.
One thing I found is that with the old epox bios you could take the ram up to 213, this is the set-up most of the ram is tested at

The problem is that on a abit board it will not even run close to these settings at 2.9v :)

HI there well I have that memory but I'm using it on a PIV system not sure what to tell you but here is what system I have

PIV 2.26B @ 2.821Mhz
asus P4B533-E
Corsair XMS PC3200 CL2 512mb and of course all the other stuff in the system
also I did the dip trick 3:4 ratio so it's running at 166fsb @ 220 at CL2 timing 2-3-3-6 memory so far so good
i think this memory is pretty good but thats my own opinion any question i will try to help as much as I can take care lots of luck

Mine 2.26 runs at 162 fsb with 216 2-3-3-6. Sandra score is 3281 memory bandwith.

this results are very low if you compare it with the memory that use winbond DDR400 5ns.
You could get them to DDR460 easy with some burn-in
or the
Geil PC3500 that overclocks to around DDR482Mhz
