Which hard drive for high PCI bus?

As an overclocker, my PCI bus is often high. I know maxtors are good at high pci bus, but which other brands are good? I've had too many drives that quit at 35 pci bus or less...
What about the western digital ata100 7200rpm 8mb cache models?

i would recommend you just to get a good one, like the western digital JB series, and hope it will run ok at the high bus.

note that the high bus is no good for hard disks at all, and even if you get yours running at the high bus ok, this usually causes it to be prone to failures easier.

Well after recently scouring the net reading countless new hd reviews this past weekend because I too had a new hd to purchase I have this knowledge to pass on to you:

Out of these 3 drives here's what I've found about em

Maxtor DX series:Fairly nice hd's overall, second best speed out of the 3, tends to accept overclocking very well, drive is somewhat noisy, and tends to be reliable

Seagate Barracuda ata iv: (The drive I choose in the end) A nice harddrive with some great extra's, however it is the slowest hard drive out of the 3 however it still holds it's own, it is noise free I can put my ear right up to it while it's seeking and not hear a thing, it has great data protection, and is good for higher pci bus speeds, (I own 2 seagate hd's and both are very good with high pci bus speeds) and seagate has a very good track record for reliability, coupled with an excellent drive setup and diagnostic utility it's a good choice. *note though that the barracuda gets a little warmer than the other 3 due to that seashield.

Western Digital Caviar 8mb Cache: Well this drive is just plain fast and it hands the other hd's it's rear ends in most tests, however I have heard alot of negative things about this hd, I've heard of a few users who had this hd fail on them, and alot of people I've talked with who overclock with this hd have told me that there not the greatest for high pci speeds, the drive is the loudest of the 3 and runs averagely warm.

Hard Disks are a crucial purchase, and I tend to go for reliability before speed when I purchase them, after all your life is on these things and when they go out on you it is really a devastating thing!.

thats quite intresting, ive ordered a Westeren Digital 8mb cashe, ill have to see how it goes for me then!!

My Western Digital with 8mb cache has been at 37mhz for about a month now without any problems. Although I have heard that some have problems with doing that.
