Well, I tried to unlock my 1800+ this weekend. I had one sitting around, so I decided to try it. I took out my 1600+, unlocked my 1800+, and put it in. Held my breath, made a quick sacrifice to the gods, and hit the power switch. Everything turned on, but no post. So... What happened? Cleared comos, tried it again, and nothing. I put my 1600+ back in, and thankfully no fried mobo or ram. Whats the deal? Is this normal if you didnt do it right?

Try clearing the stuff around the bridges if possible and try to boot up with it again... If it's not dead, you probably messed up on the unlocking somehow.

I had the exact same problem, and it turned out that one of my L1 bridges shorted and haulted my PC from ever booting. I simply removed the bridges and on first try, the PC booted successfully.

For Palominos, make sure that those holes between the bridges were properly filled, hence, there is a ground and if that ground gets in contact with one of your connections, your CPU will malfunction and could be damaged.
