In windows 2000, I've setup all my drives to be "DMA if available" yet my primary master drive uses only PIO. I've tried fiddling with the BIOS and manually setting the IDE channel to UDMA100 but that doesn't help either. Anyone have any solutions? BTW, the problematic system is my main computer in my sig.

I think I figured it out...the drive isn't requesting power for the PS. I tried booting without powering the slave drive and the BIOS couldn't detect a hard drive at all on the primary IDE channel. But when the slave drive is connected to the PS and daisy chained to the master drive, it works but only in PIO mode. I also tried changing the IDE cable but that didn't make a difference. Time to RMA the drive.
