Hi!
I have a XP2200+ Throughtbred(or what it is)
Do I need yo unlock it? I can change on CPU Ratio in my BIOS and so with FSB too...
IS RAtio the same as multipier?
What is max temp for this processor???
Could Arctic silver III goop make it colder?
Yes you need to unlock it if you want to be able to change the multiplier. You can overclock the FSB without unlocking it.
The spec max temp can be found on the AMD site. It is probably 90C, but the practical limit for overclocking is the mid-50s at full load.
Arctic silver III will improve the heat transfer to the heatsink and make it possible to run cooler.

Just because you can tell it to use a multiplier doesn't mean it will be able to. You still need to unlock it to be able to change the multiplier.

At least it's possible to change the multiplier on an AMD.
