I have had the same experiance with Asus boards both a A7V and an A7V133. I also have an Abit KT7A Raid and the same cpu running at the same specs with the same heatsink reads, under prime95 105F on Asus and 82F with the Abit (Ambient temp water cooling of a 1.2 at 1440). The Abit has a thermistor that can be bent up to touch the bottom of the cpu on the Abit you cant do this. I find the Abit to be more realistic but on the whole socket thermisors at best are only good for seeing if a change you made helps and they are marginal even for this. Comparing socket thermistor temps with others can be very missleading.

There are so many variables in this factor starting with what your room temp is, airflow in & out, case size, & type of heatsink & fan combo. Each monitor program needs to be listed as you post the temps. I read that the Asus Probe does not read correctly that it reads higher & the different versions of bios makes it run higher too. I use it & it matches the Asus Bios hareware monitor. Going to switch to MBM 5 tonight. It is warm board.

My average settings are room temp 78*f, m/b temp 82*f, & CPU temp 41*C with my Swiftech 462A ( ASII) on low speed, full tower case, 125cfm + airflow in & out.

I have gone crazy trying to get a realistic temp for my CUSL2 and ASUS Probe. I am trying to update my bios, to no avail, in an attempt to get a more accurate temperature.

Yeah, Asus Probe reads high. Thats why I stopped using it, and went w/ Motherboard Monitor 5. It matches my HardWare monitor in my BIOS, so I'm taking that as accurate . . . Well, not accurate, but closer to the truth. My temps are as follows:

42 Celsius idle, 48 Celsius Load
