After sp1, all was fine, I then decided that I did not want the 40.41 det drivers and wanted to go back to the 29.40's with refresh rate fix. Well, the mouse went crazy, hesitating all over the place, so bad that I used system restore to the "after sp1 point", all is fine now, but really would like to go back to the older drivers. During the drivers change the first time I did notice that it warned me that the files that it was installing were older then the ones that were installed, I told it to overwrite them, can anyone help?

Thanks,

Jim

Instead of using driver rollback, why not try going to Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs, and remove the Nvidia display drivers. Restart, and then run the driver installation of your choice. Please let me know if it works -- Paul

Yes, do that reboot when it prompts you to install it click cancel.

Go to search and search:

nv*.*

Direct it to find it in your Windows folder, clear everything and install the previous drivers you had.

I did the uninstall of Nvidia drivers thru add/remove, it installed the default windows drivers(its a GF2 pro), I then installed the 29.40's when this occurred, the mouse was all screwey, it worked, then stopped, then worked again, very hesitant.

Did you try to delete the files as Yodums mentioned? Also, look for the Detonator Destroyer to see if that helps. (It looks like a driver clash of some sort.)

I'm curious -- Why not just stick with the newest drivers?

Once you get this straightened out, you should create a restore point, and in general do it before and after each driver update.

I hope you get it working; best of luck! -- Paul

I wanted to change the drivers cause I wanted the refresh rate fix to work, I hate 60hz and riva tuner does not work well with the latest drivers, overclocking didn't funtion correctly.

I will try to remove the older drivers manually and try this again, thanks.

Thanks for the expl. Well, good luck! I'd seriously look (on google) for the detonator destroyer. It might help out. Best of luck!! -- Paul

Seemed like 2nd time was a charm, made sure all drivers were deleted and this time it worked fine, thanks to all.

That's great! Now make that system restore checkpoint! (and have fun. :) ) -- Paul
