View Full Version : How thick should the Base be for a water block?

I want to make a block similar to the pop-can block, so I want to know how thick of metal I should get for
1. a copper block
2. an aluminum block

not positive, but i'd say around 1/4" thick

5mm seems to be the optimal base size.......
There is an article in the porcooling forums about this. A guy tried a block design at multiple base sizes and came up with a nice graph. I'f I'm right, the graph looked like an upside down bell curve (with 5mm being int eh middle - lowes temp)
