Recommendations

I've talked with my neighbors that have a roadrunner connection that they hardly use, and I told them i'd pay half and buy the hardware if they let me run a wireless deal into my apartment.

Now, what would you recommend, and do you think this is feasible? We're about...3 houses apart...and what all would I need?

well, it IS very possible. however, it's all mainly depend on how far apart (still won't be a big issue if u don't mind to spend a bit more for some aftermarket antenna), how many walls/ceciling (this would affect quite a bit).

all u do is simply like this:

your neighbor's cable modem --> your neighbor's router if he has it which most likely --> your wireless AP/router --> your wireless connector, PC Card/USB whatever u choose.

and u can either run ur own dhcp in ur AP/Router or simply just use ur neighbor's too. it's up to u.

so, the main thing is how is both house/apartment arrange/apart.

The first thing I would be worried about is if this is against Road Runners TOS agreement and how much trouble your going to get your neighbor into.
