Well, what do ya'll think??
HERE (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/casecooler/cromplatramh.html)
I think they are the same as the TweakMonster BGA ramsink. As long as they are copper, they are all alike.

Dont buy ramsinks, they are a waste of money. If you want to cool your ram make your own ramsinks out of an old heatsink or if they must be copper use the pennie mod trick. Much more cost effective!

I bought two 486 CPU fans for £6 (approx $10) and cut them up using a fine tooth junior hacksaw, lapped them up and poished them and stuck them to the ram of my 9700 Pro (cannot BELIEVE is didnt have ram sinks!) with Artic Silver two part epoxy and I am really pleased with the results.
The beauty of doing this yourself is that you know it was done right as I have hads a GF4 4600 with ram sinks already installed and they where glued on with epoxy resin (not very good heat tranfer at all).
I was surprised actually as the GeForce was an Abit card and they are known for being quite good as a rule.

hmm, might try the penny thing, interesting...
oh, I thought pennies were only copper plated, the government doesn't use solid copper anymore do they? we should check on this? does it matter...
if they are solid copper, talk about a nice heatsink for only pennies ;-) LOL
8 ramsinks(copper) for $19 , with thermal adhesive pad preinstalled. Peel off the clear cover, stick it on.
Worth every penny if you want the ramsinks.HERE (http://store.yahoo.com/ocsystem/octincoatcop.html)
Im not a fan of those thermal pads, id rather use thermal compound and glue, also i agree that making your own is far better, nice feeling to make something that really works :D

I would think that the chromoly would hurt the heat-loss performance.

i thought i read somewhere that BGA ram doesn't even get hot? as far as i'm concerned, most manufacturers that put sinks on the ram are doing it just for looks. so if you want any to be half-way effective you have to pull them off and use a better thermal material.
if you want some cheap ramsinks, BG Micro sells some small black aluminum sinks for like $.75-1 each or something close to that. i ordered some just in case i ever decided i wanted to make some ramsinks.

I believe in 1983 they started making pennies from zinc and just coating them with copper.

I plan on OCing the crap out of the card so I'm doing this not because I think it won't work at stock speeds without, but because I do think the ram will be heating up if I get to push it as much as the reviews say I can...
*evil grin*
just get a penny made in the 70's and you'll be alright...there are plenty of them floating around :)
