OK-

Here I go into the wonderful world of watercooling. Starting to get the parts together now. It's almost my B-Day, my wife was confused when I gave her a list of water pumps to pick from;)

Got my heatercore (73 Cougar) Cooling area about 7x6x2 w/ 5/8" inlet and outlets.

I'll get a pump this weekend, then just need to work on the block.

Could take a while, I've got a 6-month old baby that takes alot of work too:D

I'll post more as the project goes on as I'm sure I'll have some questions.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Good luck with the watercooling. The Via Aqua 1300 is very a good pump, rated at over 300 gph and its inexpenisve(about $20). For the waterblock I would get the Maze 3 or Dtek Spir@l, TC-4. I would get a lucite top for the Maze 3, some people have experienced leaks from these but I wouldn't worry too much, it was blown way out of proportion(only happened to a few people who had early blocks). Mine doesn't leak.:)

A agree with everything RnPgrosz says, I use a Via Aqua 1300, and love it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna try building my own block. It just sounds like more fun and satisfaction to me.

I've read Frodo Baggins recent threads - I have an old Pentium heat sink that I think will work well, if not I'll try something different. Eventually, I'll probably design and get one milled.

I should be getting a pump tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a little work done over the weekend.

Alright, I've got all the parts I need. The whole set-up is in the sink running right now testing for leaks.

None so far!:D

It's not pretty, but it'll work, and it's only my first try. I'll try to post some pics on Sunday. Need to get a shroud put together.

Can't wait to get it setup.

Alright the system ran overnight without a single leak. I got the heatercore shrouded and set up with 2 92m fans @ 47.5cfm pulling, hooked to a 12v/7v switch.

The bottom of the heatsink stays nice and cool even on 7v, and I can still feel air movement throught the core. Still need to leave it running for a while just to be safe.

Used an old pentium heatsink for the block. Encased it in acrylic and plumbers gooped it up. Put a little dishsoap in the H2O for now, got it to foam a little, and flow in the core looks pretty good, no obvious large dead spots.

Can't wait to get this hooked up!

Have fun! Watercooling seems like a good idea, only downside, is that its expeensive, but hey, i think its worth it!

WOOOOHOOOO

Watercooling up and running as I type! :D

I'll have to wait for the ASIII to set in and see how my temps are. Right now it looks like between a 5-10 degree drop (low-mid 40's @ load).

It's getting late, gotta go to work in the morning. Hopefully I can post some pics tomorrow.
