The Color Purple

Ok I did a seach and came up with this Lian-Li case

But for the effect i want.. the color needs to be a bit darker.. does anyone think its.

A. possible to darken this up?
B. paint an aluminum case purple so you can still tell its metal?
C: think they can find this Lian-Li in a size 70 or so for a watercooling setup? cheaper?

you could get the case annodized purple. It may cost a bit of money, but it would look REALLY nice.

Ok finally got to call the anodizing place.. 125 bucks for a full case anodize.

They will dip the whole frikin thing.. not just the side panels so the entire case.. frame included can be done for 125.

OK.. now I just need a low price aluminum case

Can you give us a tip off on your andromeda mod? that sounds like it will be really interesting with the purple anodized case.

Best of luck to you, and you should check newegg.com and coolerguys.com for some aluminum cases. Coolerguys has all the cases sort of lined up, and they even have some custom ones.

Last I checked there were a couple of cases that were on sale at Coolerguys, but they might have just been the really expensive $200 ones.

Directron is the case place though, for just about any type of case you can find one at Directron, I know quite a few people who go there for their cases.

125 aint bad, Directron.com sometimes has returned cases for about 30%off, you might be able to get a lian li for deseent price. just make sure you get a case that has a metal front. as they will be unable to annodize a plastic front.

I would recomend annodizing it. I am into paintball and i know of a few good anodizing companies who do a great job so just drop me a line if you want any suggestions.

thanks but already got an anodizing company that can give me next day turn around for 125 for the whole thing.

No reason a Lain Li faceplate wouldn't fit in a non lain li case since its all standard correct?

Well if you watch the TV show Andromeda then you know who and what Rommie is. Such as my avatar.



I plan to make an Aluminum case that has the same coloring as a Glorious Heritage class Heavy Cruiser.

On the left side panel will be a nice big window. With a UV and purple CC for lighting

On right/MB side panel will be the symbol of the commonwealth with a purple CC to light it.

Top window (assuming I can pull this off) will be the top, front and side cutout views of the warship.

Homemade "Andromeda Inside" case badge

Led/El wire keyboard and mouse mod

Watercooling TC-4 block w/ blue UV dye

Possible theme to go with it. Already got sounds but need to get some better samples of some of them.


Not sure what else I could/would do with it. When I am done I plan to send pictures of it as well as one of the case badges to Lexa whom plays my beloved Rommie hopefully in exchange for a color autograph :)

Well no not really.. Rommie wasn't constructed on earth or anywhere near it.. so it would be one of the hardest substances in the known worlds :)
