exactly........I'd suggest ebay if you can't wait till you have 100 quality posts.

our classifieds aren't THAT great.........but they're THAT secure because of the guys who run it.

Don't bother to spam your way up........you'll be locked out before you make it.

Ask anyone inside the forums.........I'm sure they'll be happy to tell you the 100 post idea is a definite good plan.

There has always been some complaining about the 100 post limit, but the fact is it works and our classifieds are troll-free. 100 posts isn't all that hard to reach. Until then there is ebay.

If you look around at most of the senior's sigs, you'll see that this is a "beaten to death topic." I'm sure that if you search, you'll see lots of articles on why we have the 100 post rule. It's very legitimate, and personally, if I used the classifieds (I haven't yet) I know that I would feel much more secure.

Yea the 100 post things makes a lot of since. I was mad when I first tried but hey...now I can look hehe. Yea they really arnt to great. The 100 post thing is nice so there arnt really ripoffs going on. You got to spend some time get 100 post.

The reason is simple. The classifieds is a previlege to trustworthy members. When your a new member, you must "prove your worth" so to speak, to gain access. You are put under the microscope during this sub 100 post period.

You can understand the need for this as people actually do trade, sell and buy through the classifieds. If there are people who just spam their way straight through to 100 posts, they might not be legitimate seller/buyers. A lot of people can get hurt from this. Now you wouldn't want that to happen would you? Plus, overclockers.com has a very good reputation and the mods certainly don't want to tarnish it, so they implement these rules.

A rule is a rule. 100 posts is a good starting number to gain access to other forums. Beaware, if you spam I can guarantee you someone will bring it to your attention within minutes of your spam. I've seen it many a times before.

who said about spamming??? take a look at my posts and u will see if i am a spammer or a possible spammer, i just wanted to sell something real quick that's all, and if i have to wait to reach 100, then i will wait, i don't think it's unfair, and i won't go to ebay, i will do that here, cauz i am really satisfied from this community.... There was a thread a while back about doing a "Google" search of your username...some have such obscure names, they only got a handful of hits, most of them pertaining to something of theirs.

I got well over 3 million hits. 3 of them were me (an article of mine on the front page here, and oddly, two posts of mine from our old (defunct) Classifieds section from the front page). There's a "Mr B" everything out there...LOL. I was amazed at some of the hits that came back....:eek: :D

So it's not an "uncommon" name. I've been to several other forums where I couldn't get "Mr B" (Or MRB, MrB, Mr_B, etc) as they were all already taken!

And no, both "Mr B"s" aren't me...LOL. Although I do have an "alias" here (but I'm not saying what it is....:p ).

Actually dident notice that there WAS another MrB around untill yesturday, When i saw him in one off the threads i read. Oh well i thought.. one fairly quick way to hit 100 posts it to mess up big and mess up often. half the threads i've started probably had 'uh-oh' in the title...
also its good to explore all the sections of the forum, you never know when you could pitch in an idea that could help someone. something you read could also lead to new questions... just try searching for the answer before posting.
