Leadtek driver vs XP driver?

My g4ti4200 is causing some problems. The driver, from Leadtek, is really f**king it up big time. I've had to reformat and reinstall windows a few times. The driver XP installs automatically is OK I guess, but isn't the Leadtek one better? Is there some way to fix this compatibility issue, or is it not worth the trouble?

Leadtek just bundles the card with older Drivers,

I suggest you download 29.42, while its not as fast as some, its reliable

I'm not sure that the driver that comes with XP has OpenGL support, or at least not that good...they never have for Nvidia, unless they changed that. That would be the big difference.

Does it work well with XP? 40.41 ****ed me up even worse than the bundled one.

when installing new Nvidia drivers, you must be certain to completely uninstall the old ones...or you will run into trouble. And the 40.41's are beta drivers, so I'd steer clear of them for a while. The last WHQL driver was 30.82...the 29.42's were, also.

Get Detonator Destroyer for uninstalling old nVidia drivers. This little program is very good.

I just bought and installed the Leadtek Ti4200 (64Mb) a few days AFTER I had installed the latest Detonator drivers that came out a few weeks ago to support a lesser Nvidia chipset (ASUS 7700 Ti). I did not have to do any additional software install. I left the Leadtek CD in its package. I am getting 11,300 in 3dMark2001 and everything works great. Get the latest Nvidia beta driver from the Nvidia website! I am running XP home with a p4 2.26 on an ASUS 533

So you're using 40.41, correct? That driver ****ed me up terribly. Maybe because I'm using an Athlon or something.
