My Epox 8K5A2+ BIOS shows that my memory's CAS is 2.5 instead of 2.0 with "By SPD" being selected. Did I get the wrong memory?

No, you didn't get the wrong memory. Your memory will always be set to the stock timings unless you change them. Change that option from SPD to Manual and select the timings. Try 2-2-2-5-1 and see what happens. You may have to increase the vdimm depending upon what speeds/timings you are running at.

I tried once before. I set the "System Performance" from "Normal" to "Turbo". WINXP couldn't boot (missing system file). I also tried set it to "Fast" and "Fastest". They were all fine.
But I think overclocking the memory has nothing to do with corrupted WINXP file. Anyone has any ideas?

The corrupted file was most likey caused by the memory. Try increasing the vdimm. Also, I think it is better to change the memory timings manually, some people have reported problems with using the Fast and Turbo settings on the 8k3a.

thanks...What value (4, 8) should I set for "DRAM Burst Length"? I saw some people set it to 4, while others set it to 8. And what is "DCLKI/DCLKO Timing" (0ns, 0.5ns, 1ns, Auto)?
