HI, everyone!!
I have few questions for you:
I am using Intel Box cooling for my pentium4 1.6A and in BIOS it says my CPU fan has 2500 rpm. My friend has Intel Celeron 1.1A and is also using box Intel Cooling ( my and his cooler loks the same ) but his fan rotates 4000 times in a minute. Isnt this strange ( slower processor has retail cooling better than faster)??

MY CPU temp while full load are somwhere around 50-52. Is overclocking of this CPU safe ( I want it to run at 16*133) or i shoul buy better cooling??

I heard something about that WIn98 dont boot if you are using CPU faster than 2.1GHz. True or false??

Thanks for replies!!!

win98se is ok...yet I think batboy has a patch for win98.

also I think that with your temps you might want to go with a AX-478 and a new fan....don'T forget the AS3.

I would get better cooling before bumping to 133MHz.

AFAIK- Windows 98SE is OK above 2.1, Windows 98 V1 is not. Batboy is using V1 if I remember correctly.

The P-4 and Celeron 1.1 uses a completely different mounting system. There is a way to modify the P-4 fan to run it faster, I haven't tried it, but there is a recent thread covering the subject. I would try to get that thing running a little cooler before attempting overclocking. Don't neglect case cooling either.

About Win95 first version, it's true it won't run higher than 2.1 gig. However, Win98SE does just fine. I have the first edition and it's simple to fix the bug. All you need is the NDIS.VXD file from Win98SE and replace your current version of the file with the newer one in the Windows\system directory. PM me if you can't find it and I'll email you that file.
