View Full Version : i d/l a tweak for my modem and now it disconnects

i downloaded it from speadguide.net . i also downloaded marketscore but then unistalled it, however my computer still connects to the marketscore proxy. am i getting too much bandwidth? im thinking my isp automaticaly disconnects ppl when they get too much bandwidth. i'm on comcast high speed internet. anyone have any ideas about what the problem may be

go back to speedguide and look around, they have the "default" network settings, or you could always just restore your registry... if you saved it beforehand like they warned.
I dont know what marketscore is but I would suspect that if you uninstalled it and it is still connecting to its proxy that your problem is with cleaning that out of your system and restoring the default for your ISP. I would guess that you are still connecting to marketscore but not providing the proper authentication and so they are just disconnecting(droping the connection)The speedguide tweeks should not be your problem.

since im stupid i forgot to back up my registry so i tried system restore and it still didnt work. so i just reinstalled windows xp. o well it fixed the prob and i backed up my registry right after the first boot. so now i can mess with it.
its amazing how readily people will format....I on the otherhand are extremely reluctant......prlly cuz it takes a long time and is a pain in the butt....
