All of a sudden, my pc has started to run very sluggishly , for no reason. I haven't recently changed anything. i have defragged, removed programs, fixed errors with Norton utilities etc. But applications, the internet, evrything rund slow, and for some reason my pc crashed when i try to go into the control panel.
When i shut down, i get a message saying:
"Notification Wnd for RNA Admin". Is not responding. I can choose to end task or wait or shut down.
Does anyone know whats going on?

Track down the "Notification Wnd for RNA Admin" program and disable it, see if your system speeds up.. that program may have died a horrible death, and slowing the system down.

I am using Windows 98 (how do i check if it is SE?)
Su Root, when i start windows, the only program running is norton anti virus, explorer and systray, which are the same as usual. I have no idea what this RNA Admin is. My whole system is very slow, and my games are very jerky, and the internet has slowed considerably. Safe mode is fine, and i can enter the control panel, but i can't thing of anything i have done which would cause this. I have deleted all unnecessary programs, and can't think of anything else. I would rather not have to reinstall windows.

are you sure there is nothing else starting?

Start/Run/msconfig
check what's starting up in the Registry.. you can uncheck items in there to temporarily disable them from starting up.

I'm sure there is nothing else running, and i can't find anything in the start up, which wasn't there before. If I can figure out what this RNA Admin is, maybe i can find the root of the problem.

I have no idea... tried Yahoo.. I get no results searching "RNA Admin", and nothing relevant when I try a more general search.

Try doing a file search for "RNA" and see what you get.

other than that, I would suggest reinstalling..
