Has anyone had either success or failure (besides pgudge) trying to use PC3200 memory with this board? I have no trouble with XMS2700 Corsair and can even get close to "DDR 400" in speed, but the BIOS may not be able to recognize the SPD info or something.

Good to hear that the Pc3200 sticks work in this Board. Why all the fuss over the need for an SiS648 chipset in order to run DDR 400 if it already works in systems built for DDR333?

Because the Sis 648 chipset officially supports PC3200 at stock processor speeds, you need to overclock the system clock to get other motherboards to run at PC3200 speeds.

you don't have to overclock the processor on a p4s533

you don't need to overclock the processor on a p4s533 to run ddr400.

it will run ddr400 at 100mhz fsb - just select the 3:6 cpu/mem ratio by hand. that's it.

You meant 4/6, did you?

Both, 4:6 is whan the CPU is funning at 133FSB (P4 B Range), 3:6 is when the CPU is running 100FSB (P4 A range & Celeron).

uh, no,

ddr400 at 100mhz fsb is a 3:6 ratio - just like i wrote. 4:6 at 100mhz fsb is ddr300.

I found overclocking the memory on this board to be rather tricky. Perhaps that just comes with the territory. I'm not one to try voltage mods, etc. However, I did get a modest overclock out of 2 sticks of the Corsair pc2700. Interestingly I had no difference in stability between one and two pieces of memory. I have read other reports that clocking memory at more than pc2100 will not work with more than one memory bank.

Good, solid, cheap board. Needs USB 2.0.

I had 2 x 256MB sticks of Sammy PC2700 clocked to DDR412 on the P4S533 fully stable.

Yeah needs USB 2.0 but thats what the SiS648's for :)
