so, can we play the demo online?
if so, would someone like to host a server so we can get the o/c fragfest on?
its so great, ive never been so happy (ok im lying, but still)
yeah you can play it... but not right now cause the master server is down. i played last night with a crew from another site for a couple hours.
very phat. :D

can you have a server without the master server?

i was looking at the server options, it doesn't look like we can get a server going until the master server is back up.
that's dumb.

Doh ! I just got done installing, testing and running some
benchmarks with it, and my next goal was to get online
and frag some people.

someone with decent upstream:
set up a server for us all to play on. Ive been playing all night on a server someone at [H] is running, its SO ****ING AWESOME!

yeah, it would be nice to have our own server. what kind of upload is required? i know my upload isn't enough for more then 12 people at the most. 250k :(

well, i only have 128 up, so way ahead of me.
we might be able to do 8 people on that, but im sure someone by tomorrow can come up with like 384k.
if you all want to set up a time, i get off work at 5pm and im down for playing for the rest of the night if need be:)
i'm game for a low grav, instagib bombing run match.
my ups are only 128 so its not gonna be me hosting.

hey guys, my uploads are never less than 256... is that good enough for an OC server? i'd be happy to have my second machine do it once i figured out how.. not sure how i'd get around my linksys router though.. could that be a problem?

so far mr.chambers has the best upload, now we need to figure out how to set up a server.
i forgot to mention, if i set up a server it wouldn't be dedicated. i only have this one computer that can play games and i don't think it's powerful enough to host and for me to play at the same time.

alrighty, i was just playin around, but heres some background:
Server Name: overclockers.com
Machine: 800 T-Bird @933mhz
128MB (ouch) PC133 RAM
Cable 1.5mbps/512kbps connection
DSL Reports.com's test (which i test about 4 times a week for kicks) always gives me right around 1mb down, and anywhere from 256-800kbps upload.. totally depends on the day (not load i mind you, i'm the only one in town (population >300) that uses the cable net.. yay for me :D
i'm still playin around with it, but its up now, and i can connect to it with my main machine here (i'm hosting it on my secondary rig) and play with some bots.. can someone varify if you guys can connect? or what i need to change if anything?

where can i find the IP?
anyways, guys, the server wont be up at nighttime, but when i had it up, i could see it in the Master list under overclockers.com.. BUT i could only connect to it actually through my LAN... so im not sure i have it set up right.. anyone got some info on how to help me out?
I tried looking there, but never found it.
I'll throw up a server real quick. IP will be 24.150.153.125. Name will be Overclockers.com
Hope to see somebody there.

not really, once in a while it lag for about 3-5 frames (EDIT: i should say about a quater second) but that's nothing. then again, it might have been my MX400 lol.
what's your upload? i was thinking about hosting games overnight when i go to bed but i don't want to set the max people (or whatever it is called) to high.
According to DSLR, I'm getting 376 kbps.
I wish I knew how to add bots. That server wasn't dedicated, either.

I'm not 100% sure it's set up right. It seems to be working, though... It shows up for me under deathmatch servers.
I'll leave it up at least until I get back from work tomorrow (9:30-10:00 Central time).

Hey. To connect to other servers, even if the Master server is
down, do the following: (you have to know the IP...)
Hit tab or the ` key.
enter "OPEN IP#" Ip# =ip address of server
bingo
If you find a server you like, add it to favorites, and it may still
be there next time, even if the master is down for some reason.
(If Mr.Loathsome frags you, that is me......)
