i have a chance to trade my GF2MX400 for a GF4MX440, i know the MX440 will perform better but how much better? most 3DMark scores for a NOT overclocked MX400 is about 2600-3000 points then MX440 gets about 4500-5500 (again, not overclocked)

so should i trade cards? (the MX440 is brand new, never opened)

btw, i'll be buying a TI4200 in a month or two but i need a little more power then my MX400 can give until then.

A straight trade? Go for it. GF4 mx's may be roughly equivalent to GF2 Ti's/Ultra's, but they are better than GF2MX's. A GF3 or 8500 would be better, but if you'll be upgrading anyway...

yep, straight trade. the guy that bought it said since i'm putting the computer together for him, and to say thanks for a few latenight call's about 'random user errors' (i'll be nice) he would trade it for my MX400.

he doesn't play any games, just photoshop and stuff like that.

Video card food chain were do you stand. (http://www17.tomshardware.com/graphic/02q2/020418/vgacharts-05.html)

As you can see your choice would big a large improvement. I was looking at the MX440 but up here there the same price as a 8500le so I got it only because it had DX8 support.

Alway wanted to do the Mad onion 3d mark without have to skip some test such as "Nature" and such because my card could not support the features..:(

also, i never really looked at the spec's for the GF4MX cards. i didn't know the 420 used 166Mhz ram, at least the 440 has 400Mhz DDR :p
