Is it awesome? I love the demo, I just want to make sure it's tight. Jedi Knight II's demo was better than the game in my opinion.

the demo doesn't come close to the full game.
there isn't really any single player mode though. all single player is is multiplayer with bots.

People need to learn how to use the scout for directed artillery fire.

Too many twits plane camping and shooting down teammates if they don't get the plane.

Too many twits not playing as a team.

Lets get a server up.. we got the machines to run a decent one.

Or do we have a server up already? Password portected maybe? :)

hey guys i have a problem HOSTING a LAN game. When i click on create it starts loadin map and after few seconds it kicks me back to desktop. I checked game log and it seems that its searchin for some ASEhost.dll file and tryin to load it...

iinstalled only 1.1 patch 15mb or so. The other one is for dedicated server 50.mb or so, but im not tryin to run the dedicated server...Do you think that could be the problem even if im not tryin to run ded server?

Couldn't honestly answer since I never tried.. but from what I understand.. if you run a dedicated server you can't use that same machine to play with your client.

I'd personally just setup a box to serve dedicated.. I plan on setting one up to host soem ftp/web files and maybe a NWN's server and/or 1942. Haven't tried hosting yet so I really don't have an answer for you.

Best moment ever.

attle of Wake Island.. I am in the shore battery on the north side trying to sink the Jap carrier.. guy hops into a zero and I try to shoot him before he takes off.. didn't work.. so because of the reload time on the gun.. I hold my fire as he lifts off and turns towards me.. closer... closer.. tracking him with my cannon... close enough... BAM! Shore battery right into the belly of the fighter and it barely clears the battery before crashing.

the guy was like "WTF?? I got shot down by a shore battery? LOL"

best moment for me was on the map (i forgot the name) that has two airports and is full of mountains. i flew over the Axis airport and dropped a few bombs, on my next pass i jumped out of the plane (it flew into the line of tanks at the other end of the base killing 3 people lol) i landed on the top of the mountain with a sniper rifel and started picking the enemy off. i had 38 kills that round and they never knew where i was lol.

the only problem was i had to commit suicide a few time because i kept running out of ammo.

i'll edit this post in a few minutes with the name of the map.

EDIT: i think it was GALAZA but i'm not 100% sure

Hey.. what do you guys use to fly the planes with?

Mouse sucks
Keyboard is lethal usuall when trying to do manuvers *though I can really do some acrobatics to avoid getting shot down in a dogfight :)
I tried to use my strategic commander but that dosen't work as well as I had hoped.. gonna try my old Wingman warrior joystick soon.

But what do you use?

key board, but ive had way more pratice than the rest of u most likely. im usre most of of u havent even heard of the game called "code name eagle". which happens to be the test engine/game for 1942.

we and my freinds would play this game a lot @ lans so i allready had a good understanding o how the game worked

i guess if u turn up the mouse senesitiveity it works well, and that yes a joy stick works the best

but how many ppl bring a joystick to a LAN?

This game does rock. My favorite demo kill was flying the plane with dual bombs, and killing 9 people with one pair of bombs. Full APC, Jeep, and a guy on foot all gathered, about to head towards Airfield from the north base. There were alot of "WTF?!?" 's after that. Can't wait to play it on my new system. :D

I used a scout on Omaha beach to direct the shore batterys on the higgins boats.. imagine taking out 8 guys with 1 shot just before they get tto the shore :)

They wern't happy.

My only gripe is there isn't enough brush for the snipers to hide in. you can't exactly hide in the bushes in this game like you can with Operation Flashpoint.

Hey if any of yall can help m out I'd be very grateful. My roommate and I installed BF1942 (retail) on his computer and it keeps giving us these error messages...if someone can suggest any possible fixes it'd be great!!
