I hoping for the best but my AMD Thunderbird was hot enough to cook an egg. Do think it's melted or is there still hope?

I suggest that you take the necessary steps to make sure that this can't happen again. Fannage, hackin' and a-hewin' on your case or case covers, all those fun things.
