On my CPU the second line says AGOIA, which I have heard is the best stepping for my Athlon XP 1800. However, the line below that starts with a Z and in the AMD overclovking guide on these forms it told me that my CPU will not overclock at all. I have not unlocked my CPU yet, but in my bios I do not have access to change the FSB or the Multiplier. Should I get a new chip or do I just have to unlock it to get access to overclocking it?
Thanks:D

the highest ive seen them go is 1780mhz at 1.95v but you never know.. what you really want is "F38 or F41", "Y", "4" they are the top dogs...

So it is normal that I dont have access to FSB adjustments until I unlock my CPU? And it is not necessary to return it for another one?

Most motherboards will allow you to adjust the fsb without unlocking the cpu. What kind of motherboard do you have?

Boy am I an idiot :/ I did have fsb adjustments, I just had to set the settings in the BIOS to manual. But the wierd thing is, I have yet to unlock my card and I also have access to multiplier adjustments. I am running an Asus A7V266 with the VIA KT266a north bridge. Anyone have any clues as to why I have access to my multiplier settings?

just because you have access to the multi doesn't mean you can change them :0)
