My cpu will not run stable at 1800mhz. It's giving me Blue screen etc.. In WINXP PRO With SP1 Retail copy. any clue why? This is ****ing me off my temps are around 105-120F @ 1800mhz. 1900mhz i can boot into also but I get the BLUE SCREEN of Death my Voltage ritenow is 2.05. Ive raised it up to 2.11 but it still is unstable any Suggestions would be apreciated. My rig specs are in my sig. I just orderd my MSI KT400 Motherboard w/Serial Ata AGP 8x for $127 will that motherboard help me? Rite now im using this p.o.s Abit KG7 Raid with voltage mod I did.

i had a agoia y that wont do 1800mhz either settle down not all chips are the same. the one i had that wouldnt do 1800 mhz was a brown agoia y 0213.
right now i have a brown agoia y 0208 that will do 1800 w/ 1.95v.

You'll definitely need newer/faster rams unless those are the hi performance ones. My XP 1600 should come in tomorrow from newegg. I hope it does 1900mhz but I heard newegg has been shipping crappy xp 1600 lately so i'm a little scared  . I fryed my XP 2000 installing a HS inside the case. :( I know that wont happen again with my Swiftech MCX462 because you have to remove the mobo to install it.
ahh don't fret too much my agoia 9 won't do 1800mhz either! not even with 2.1v! just keep in mind 1700 up from 1400 is still nothing to sneeze at and your still getting blazing speed.
I just barely got to 1800 with my agoia y on water. Guess we just got bum chips.

My chip hits 1820ish but crashes Prime95 within minutes - 1771 is my max for stability. This will keep me happy until Barton is bargin basement.

Its annoying but wellworth it ;) I think after this I ain't upgrading till they reach 2.5Ghz I mean cmon what the hell uses over a ghz nowadays eh? Games sure don't

2 gig on air... man...
But i think unless i see the some pics....i dont belive half the bull**** some people post...2ghz on air from a xp1600.....hmmm OK:)
What ram u using...some ultra futuristic pc 4800=477mhz:> combined witha sk1200 all copper with a aluminium 160 mm delta fan pushing 400cfm.....
Why lie about what speed you overclock.
If your not lying send some pics...even then it could be a lie:)
You could have a 2200 :P
LOL
I have over 4 xp chips,2 x 1600 agoia y and agnga
and 2 2000 agoia y and agkga
Ive yet to see over 1800 stable on any xp1600 chip air cooled....ive tried using pc3200 with both abit and epox boards.
TBH all ive been doing for 8 days now is trying to break 1.9 on a xp1600 and 2 ghz on the 2000's.....air cooling sooks:)

Could it the fact that you're trying to push a piece of silicon 400 mhz higher then it's spec'd speed? Just a hunch.
WOW i am amazed u achieved 2g with air cooling....
I still dont know how the hell you achieved this:)
Mebbe u should start using my nick...cos id bet any money u couldnt get another one to hit 2g: on air:)

what some people don't understand is that no matter what the xp cpu is 2100+, 1700+, 2000+ the thing that makes the chip what it is is the way its been manuf... the code on the cpu states the "stepping this is the refining code the newest are aroia and agoia" the week this states what week the chip was made on that manuf. line using that refining process" and the the batch"Y" th batch is the letter or numbers that tell out of say 10,000 chips witch ones are superior in quality.
so for instance a
2100+ AGOIA-Y 0208 might be able to only max at 1780mhz when
a 1600+ AGOIA-F41 0216 will reach over 2100mhz..... in this day and age the thing that makes the cpu what its is is more the batch than what the chip is sold at....understand..

I've got three AGIOA "Y" chips and none of them will reach 1800 MHz. All three top out at around 1700-1750 MHz.
I have two AROIA chips, however, that both do over 1800 MHz. One reaches 1810, the other 1840.
All of these overclocks were done at default voltage, by the way. I don't have good enough cooling to rachet the voltage up too high.
None of these overclocks are bad for a $53 CPU, though.

I have my Agoia 1600+( 0213 )at 1860 mhz with 1.92 volts and on water, I think it will do 1900 stable, still playing with timings and memory setting.

I am sorry if i asked in a less then kind way:/
It wont happen again,it wasnt meant to cause a overheating problem with qwerty's brainsink:D
I just found it hard to belive anyone could hit 2g of air.
Sorry qwerty:)

OMG NONONOONO, to say the truth, the system stated in sig is going to arrive next week, and heck i heard comments on "newegg=good stepping" so i went for it but man this comment is scarring me to hell  !!! i dont have the money to buy another one or even RMA it, just look where i live...
I hope to get anything that can hit 166MHz FSB on a 39CFM 8mm fan, i need no more...
and yeah, when you know the facts of overclocking, the cpu timing means nothing to its stepping...

My new motherboard r0xors just I wish I could get more MHZ out of it. too bad theres no Vmod =/ Im running at 1700mhz 12.5x133 ritenow. Waiting for my PC3200 Corsair to get in the mail.Does anyone know where to get a Vmod for Msi KT4 Ultra SR ? For the I/o , DDR ram voltage and Vcore?
I just bought my new 1600+ this mornning (AGOIA Y 0213) and it`s a nice chip, I could get 166 mhz fsb at default volt and load windows but it`s unstable :( ... I working to get a good stable o/c  What mem timing can be good for my crucial pc-2100 mem?? anyone?

Idle Cycle limit 16
Page Hit Limit 16
Trc Cycle 5, 6 if unstable (over 133 FSB, probably)
Trp Cycle 2
Tras Cycle 2
CAS latency 2 (2.5 if you must, but you lose a lot of performance by increasing this)
Trcd Cycle 2, 3 if unstable (graphics in particularly)
If you're running Crucial PC2100, you're probably not going to get anywhere close to these timings at 166 FSB, but this is you goal
Many thanks cmcquistion i will try

People have answered your questions and helped you. If your only remaining question is about your motherboard, you may want to post that question in the MSI motherboard forum. You will probably attract the attention of more MSI owners who can help you.
