Next time, try a crayon.

yes but the temps that that area of the cpu gets arn't high enough to melt the wax. remember crayons will stay solid up to about 90*F which is what your core may reach but not the area where the bridges are.

besides.. if it wasn't safe to use crayon.. noone here would recommend it :P

I use crayon to fill my pits. Nail polish remover is mostly actetone so you can use it or try goof off or goo gone, they both work very well. My temps don't come close to melting the wax.

The best way of unlocking is silicon + conductive grease. It is safe and easy to clean. Did you mask off the L1's? Shouldnt be a problem and if you had too much you could have taken the tape off immediatly and cleaned it before it dried.

Yes they are, but they are NON-CONDUCTIVE, and won't melt, mostly used super glue is only used because its non-conductive, same as the crayon, only the crayon won't be hard to remove.

PS. Please try to avoid double posting. You got answers the first time you asked. Forum rules are extremely against stuff like spamming, which includes double posting, you should remove you second post.
