Hello ... first time I post here.

Need help wiht choosing a good board with this "old" AMD setup as base.

1. Should overclock a P4 2.533 yo 3Ghz+

2. Need high memoryvoltage on my modules

3. AGP 8x (if there are any boards that are realy good)

From my reading in here i found that the Asus board with 8x agp was no good so that should not do for me ?

my thought are now at the Abit board, thinking of It7-max2 and there are some cheaper BD7-II ??

Tell me what board will work good with this DDR modules I have. They are Samsung C4 chips

8k3a+ rev 1.0
Athlon XP 1900+ @ 9 x 200
2 *256Mb Extrem PC3500+ C4 chips :)
Radeon 9700 Pro
Audigy Platinum
Plextor 24X
Lite-On 48X
Pioneer DVD 16X
3 COM NIC
2 IBM 120 GXP 120Gb RAID-0
1 WD 80 GB
ANTEC 550W TRUE POWER
Water cooled:
BIX, MAZE3 and 1250Pump

Thanks for your help

Are there no 8X mobos that overclock good ?

So when choosing between Abit and asus it comes down to taste ?

Asus has more Vcore?

Abit more Dimmcore ?

Read a review on the abit board and they stated running a unlocked P4 @ 235 FSB ???

Is it possible to unlock the multipel ??

The IT7 has a Vcore up to 1.7(w/o modding) and the DIMMs go up to 2.8v. Only some P4s that were not intended to be on the market are able to be unlocked or rather already are. I have read in these forums that 8x AGP does not really help as will be excess for some time.

The only bad thing with the IT7 is that I will not get Paralell port and Com ports...

and AGP 8 but that realy doesen't matter....

It's a expencive borad...but is it worth it ?

Onlt ONE serial connector in the package ?

The IT-7 is a USB based board with no legacy ports, if you need parallel and serial ports go with the BD7-II.

And no you can not unlock the multiplier on a P4. The one they used had to be an Engineering Sample which are very hard to come by.

Ok...here is what I orderd

P4 2.53
ABIT IT7-MAX2
Corsair PC3200 CAS2 (my store did tell me this will work better so they took the PC3500+ back...)
And the old stuff in here...

They even took back my AMD waterblock and gave me a P4 block =)

Hope this baby will give me over 17000 in 3dmark 2001 SE

I'm at 16,800 right now with every critical part that you have, 17,000 is possible. XMS3000c2 though.

I also modded the AV bios for the IT7Max2 :) now gives 3.2v Vmem.
