Ugh. Aol took over my system, so I delelted it. Im running xp home right now. Ok, I have two questions, and there both big n00b ones too. first: I drug the aol icon the side of the screen... Now I have this really annoying tool bar. How to I get ride of it? Second: When I installed aol, it put the icon on my desktop. I tried to delete the icon to keep my desktop nice and clean, but it wont let me delete it, so how do i delete that.
Thanks a ton guys.

Call out the National Guard!
The best advice is to reformat, re-install, and stay well clear of AO-helL......
AOL probaly is in the start up. Check your startup folder or msconfig. Look for the AOl folder in windows and cut it and move it to another harmless folder in my documents and then dlete it. Why did you install AOL?

Check the name of the process the toolbar is running under using the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL). Then, go to Start > Run, type "msconfig" and press enter. On the startup tag, uncheck anything with that filename. Reboot and it should never come back.

in XP, all versions of windoze i think, dragging cetain folders or programs to the side of your screen will create a toolbar. in order to get rid of it, clicke the top where the title of the tool bar is and drag it to the middle of your desktop, that should solve it.
